Here's how to download the new single software patch, which addresses all known security problems:

First, determine which fix you need for your version of Internet Explorer.

1. Click on "Help" in the top menu bar on your screen.
2. Click the "About Internet Explorer" menu item.
3. In the box that appears, look at the number in parentheses in the second line of text.
4. If the last four digits are 1215 or higher, download the 3.01 Security Fix.
5. If the number is between 1155 and 1158, download the 3.0 Security Fix.
6. 6. If the number is less than 1155, you have a beta version of Internet Explorer 3.0.

     First you need to download the free upgrade to Internet Explorer 3.01 
     from http://www.microsoft.com/ie/download/; then install 
     the security patch for IE 3.01.
